Cinq Études

Imagine a solo cello performance that begins in intimate solitude, only to expand into a 48-speaker immersive field. In “Cinq Études,” featuring cellist Toke Møldrup, composer Ejnar Kanding erases the boundary between the mechanical and the sensory. Every electronic texture in this 3D soundscape originates exclusively from the live cello, transforming a single instrument into a cathedral of sound. Available now in Binaural and Dolby Atmos.

The project Cinq Études – Composition for Cello & 3D Audio System is part of the Royal Danish Academy of Music’s programme for Artistic Research, which is integrated into the institution’s overall knowledge base called FOKU (Forskning [Research], Kunstnerisk praksis [Artistic Practice], and Udviklingsvirksomhed [Development Activities].
