Transcience of Time is a profound musical exploration of time’s fleeting yet transcendent nature. This release on November 29, 2024, spans 53 minutes and is the culmination of more than 20 years of collaboration between composer Ejnar Kanding, double bassist Irina-Kalina Goudeva, and guitarist George Vassilev, which is Duo ConCordis (CH).
Presented across seven works and 15 tracks, the album journeys through a spectrum of genres and styles, rooted in classical music’s aesthetic while enriched by the expressive power of electroacoustic soundscapes. These compositions create an immersive sonic experience, merging intricate compositional techniques with digital real-time sound processing using MaxMSP, which expands the expressive and technical range of the double bass, guitar, and Goudeva’s contralto voice. In Recomenzar el Infinito the darbuka is played by David Hildebrandt.
Inspired by the evocative poetry of Sylvie Arlettaz, Pablo Neruda, and Marie Lundquist, the pieces resonate with themes of humanity, nature, the cosmos, and spirituality. The result is an intricate tapestry of sound, blending acoustic warmth and digital precision to challenge and captivate listeners.
This project is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, Koda Culture, William Demant Fonden, and Knud Højgaards Fond, with production partners GVRecords, Ikana Art Studio, and Association Concordia.
