As a composer, Kanding works in the intersection of emotion, intellect, and physical presence. Kanding’s music is appreciated and programmed internationally at concerts and festivals, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. He is currently working on a premiere in 2027 of a piano quintet commissioned by the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME). In addition to the Danish Arts Foundation’s three-year grant and numerous working grants, Kanding has received several commissions from a variety of international ensembles. He holds an advanced postgraduate degree in composition, with a debut concert from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 1996.
